The Guild was offered some of a walnut tree after it was blown over in a storm. A couple of dozen turning blanks and a few large slabs were cut for furniture making and carving in March. This included cutting slabs with an Alaskan sawmill (a Stihl chain saw with a 36-inch bar and the frame to hold the bar and produce consistent slab thicknesses). Hopefully some of the turning blanks will be excellent for the turning courses being run by the Guild.
